Mini bio
From restaurant kitchens to vegan recipes.

Why The Buddhist Chef.
He says Buddhism and veganism share the value of compassion. After his first meditation retreat and his decision to become vegan, he named his blog The Buddhist Chef. His recipes make familiar meals approachable, while his social posts leave room for jokes and humour.

His bestselling English-language cookbook The Buddhist Chef arrived in 2019, followed by Vegan Comfort Cooking in 2021 and Homestyle Cooking in 2023. He also publishes in French as La Cuisine de Jean-Philippe and has a plant-based product range sold through IGA in Québec.
