Mini bio
Southern roots.
Timothy grew up in Gulfport, Mississippi, and learned to make gumbo with his mother. While studying studio art at the College of Charleston, he became vegan at 20 and began finding new ways to cook the food he loved.
From canvas to the kitchen.
In New York City, he developed Mississippi Vegan, bringing his art training into food styling and photography. Sharing recipes and photographs on Instagram built an audience and led to a cookbook deal before he focused much on blogging.
Putting down roots.
He returned to Mississippi to write his debut cookbook, Mississippi Vegan, a collection of 125 plant-based recipes rooted in Cajun, Creole and Southern cooking. After moving to New Orleans, his backyard garden became the inspiration for his second book, Garden Variety.
