Mini bio
How it started.
Kassandra began practicing yoga in 2008 to build flexibility and manage stress and anxiety. What began as a personal practice became a teaching career, with Yin yoga at the heart of her work.
Building her own classroom.
After completing her first 200-hour teacher training in 2013, she struggled to find studio teaching positions. She started posting to YouTube in April 2014 to show her teaching style. For four years, she built Yoga With Kassandra alongside a full-time job with the City of Ottawa before leaving to focus on the business.
Finding her audience.
Her short morning practices and longer Yin classes found a much wider audience during the pandemic. An August 2021 report described more than a million new subscribers since the first lockdown. Her 2018 full-body morning stretch remains a signature introduction to her teaching.
Beyond the videos.
Her books bring the same home-practice focus to the page. Yin Yoga pairs pose tutorials with sequences, while Year of Yoga organizes movement, breath and meditation around the seasons. She also offers a yoga app, teacher training and free practice challenges.
