How it started.
Julia started Chris Loves Julia in 2009. Their early home improvement budget was just $25 a month, so making a home their own meant working creatively with what they had. The blog grew around the process of renovating, including the problems and mistakes along the way.
Building it together.
By 2016, the blog was earning as much as Chris’s full-time job, but Julia was struggling to manage the projects, photography, writing and marketing alongside family life. In June that year, they decided to commit to Chris Loves Julia together full time. Their renovation work had become a shared business.
From rooms to collections.
Their work now extends from room makeovers and Chris’s recipes to furniture, lighting, rugs, wallpaper and flooring. The thread running through it is their moody, modern, traditional style, with an emphasis on homes that feel comfortable and welcoming. Recent collaborations include Loloi, Pottery Barn, FloorPops and Shades of Light.
