Mini bio
How it started.
Kosmo grew up in El Reno, Oklahoma, and learned to cook at Roberts Grill, an onion burger spot. While driving a hazardous-waste truck, he spent weekends making barbecue and saved for a smoker. He recalls taking first place in ribs at his first competition.
From the closet to the cookoff.
In 2009, he started Kosmo’s Q with $500 from a credit card, selling his first brisket injection from a linen closet. In 2015, he won the SCA World Steak Championship in Fort Worth, a milestone recognized by the association’s Wall of Flame.
Cooking for the camera.
He began making YouTube videos to reach customers. Fans can now follow his recipes, cooking experiments and collaborations, or explore his conversations about food, family and business on Kosmo Unfiltered.
