Mini bio
How it started.
Before food became her career, Hayley trained as a high-definition makeup artist in Hollywood with Margaret Kimura. She brought that creative background into Primal Palate, the recipe blog she and Bill started in 2010.
From blog to bookshelf.
Victory Belt approached the pair about a cookbook in early 2011. Their first book, Make It Paleo, arrived that year, followed by Gather and The 30 Day Guide to Paleo Cooking in 2013. For Make It Paleo II in 2015, they teamed up with Hayley’s sister, Caitlin Nagelson.
In her kitchen today.
Hayley develops recipes and products for Primal Palate, including organic spice blends and gluten-free flour. She and Bill launched FoodSocial in 2021 to connect recipe creators, brands and home cooks. In August 2026, she told readers that her own cooking had moved beyond strict Paleo while staying gluten-free.
