How it started.
Jasmine found beauty blogs while searching for a replacement for a discontinued everyday product. She launched Jasmine Talks Beauty in 2014, building a space for detailed skincare and makeup reviews across different budgets.
Finding readers.
By 2017, the blog had appeared in Vuelio’s top ten beauty ranking. In an interview that year, Jasmine remembered reaching 1,000 Bloglovin followers as a personal highlight, after putting more care into her photography and layout.
The beauty years.
Her work ranged from affordable skincare roundups to ingredient discussions and makeup reviews. Her own About page records features in Blogosphere Magazine in June 2018 and Cosmopolitan UK’s “The Rise of the Skinfluencer” in May 2020.
A new chapter.
On April 20, 2025, Jasmine signed off from Jasmine Talks Beauty. She wrote about wanting to step away from constant product consumption and return to writing, including a neglected novel. She pointed readers towards her recipe account.

At But First, Food, Jasmine publishes meat-free meals designed around a normal working week: meal prep, batch cooking and one-pot dinners. The current About page describes her as an insurance underwriter and former beauty creator, with recipes intended to help readers eat more plants and fibre.
