Mini bio
How it started.
Kim-Julie went vegan in 2011 after reading about animal agriculture. In 2013, she began posting as Brussels Vegan on Instagram, initially sharing meal ideas and supermarket finds for friends and family who asked what vegans could eat.
Building a community.
She founded Best of Vegan in January 2014 to showcase the range of vegan cooking. Her work grew from personal recipe sharing into a culinary publication featuring recipes, restaurants and contributors from around the world. In 2016, she launched the Vegan Reset online program to give people the practical guidance she had wanted when starting out.
From posts to books.
Her first cookbook, Vegan Reset, arrived in 2018 with a 28-day plan, shopping lists and meal prep guidance. Best of Vegan followed in 2022, bringing together comfort food and recipes made with chefs, authors, friends and family. Her own cooking keeps returning to quick meals, familiar flavors and ways to make plant-based food easier to prepare.
