Mini bio
A family kitchen.
Born in Rome and raised by the sea in Nettuno, Max traces his love of cooking to his family, especially his mother Fiorella. He began cooking professionally at Il Castagnone in Genzano Romano in the 1990s. Culinary school introduced him to Laura Ravaioli, who invited him to work with her on Gambero Rosso Channel. Fulvio Pierangelini became another important mentor.
From television to your screen.
After years in professional kitchens and on food television, Max found a new audience at home. His wife Ekaterina launched Casa Mariola on YouTube in 2018. During the pandemic in 2020, they began posting frequently and the audience grew. Fans know her as Camerawoman, while their son Mario often appears to taste the food.
The sound of a shared meal.
His cooking centers on seasonal, local, fresh ingredients. Sandwiches, pasta and familiar Italian dishes connect his television work to his videos and cookbooks. The phrase “The Sound of Love” refers to pasta being tossed in a pan and also became the title of his 2023 recipe collection.
A new balance.
In September 2026, Max described dividing his life between Italy and Indonesia to spend more time with his family. He said his original restaurant in Milan’s via San Marco would remain part of his work, alongside events and collaborations.
