Mini bio
How it started.
Melanie’s interest began with beauty magazines and homemade facials for herself, her mother and her sister. She studied skin therapy after leaving school and began working with lasers in 2002. She wanted to bring the results of clinical treatments together with the care and ritual of a traditional facial.
From Sydney to a wider audience.
She opened her first Double Bay studio in 2012, followed by Melbourne in 2016 and Los Angeles in 2019. CHANEL appointed her its first official Australian Skin Expert in 2016, with a US appointment in 2019. Those partnerships helped carry her treatment-room work to an international audience.
Sharing what she knows.
Her book grew from the “Notes On” skincare explainers she had been writing for social media. Published in June 2022, The Modern Guide to Skin Health turns that educational work into a guide to routines, ingredients and professional treatments. Her online Notes continue the same work.
Beyond the treatment room.
Melanie co-developed Victoria Beckham Beauty’s Daily Cleansing Protocol, released in 2024. Her New York partnership with Violet Grey and Mayfair flagship extend a practice built around personalised treatments and teaching clients how to care for their skin at home.
