Mini bio
How it started.
Naty grew up in Seville, where visits to the boutique run by Naty’s mother offered an early introduction to clothes. In 1964, Naty and twin sister Ana María traveled to New York to model for Elio Berhanyer at the World’s Fair. That trip led to sessions with Richard Avedon for Harper’s Bazaar and the start of an international modeling career.
Learning from the designers.
Work in New York brought Naty into the worlds of Oscar de la Renta and Valentino. In interviews, Naty describes those relationships as friendships and an education in color, clothes and style. The career grew to include styling and fashion consulting, as well as a role as a guerrilla in Woody Allen’s Bananas.
A wardrobe with a story.
Museo Jumex’s 2019 exhibition brought together couture associated with Naty’s life and work. The resulting Rizzoli book combined garments with photographs and personal memories. Naty later edited Tropical Living: Dream Houses in Punta Cana, photographed by Guido Taroni, and worked with Jorge Redondo on a partywear collection presented in 2026.
