Mini bio

How it started.

Taha began singing covers after a friend gave him a guitar. In his 2023 Express Tribune interview, he recalled having to leave university for financial reasons and finding a direction through music.

Finding his sound.

As Taha G, short for Taha Gurwara, he built a following around songs such as “Dou Pal,” “Dil Kay Isharay” and “Mann Mein Tu.” Romance became a recurring thread in his electro-pop writing. He told The Express Tribune that releasing music regularly helped listeners find him.

A wider stage.

Spotify featured him in its RADAR Pakistan programme in 2023 and made a mini-documentary about his life and career. That September, Sony Music Entertainment Middle East announced his signing, with plans to bring his music to listeners internationally.

Songs fans sing back.

In an Eastern Eye interview, Taha recalled singing at the Karachi stop of Hasan Raheem’s Nautanki tour. When the audience took over “Dil Kay Isharay,” he said it became one of the most memorable moments of his career.
