How it started.
Clare traces her vegan food adventures to 2017. In her own introduction, she describes moving from avid meat-eater to vegan after documentaries prompted her to reconsider eating animals. Her work grew around finding food worth seeking out, from street stalls to fine dining.
Finding her audience.
By August 2020, her Instagram had reached 100,000 followers. Her detailed reviews looked beyond the plate to include wheelchair access, gluten-free choices and business diversity policies. She also appeared on ITV in 2019 to discuss veganism.
Beyond the feed.
In 2020, Papa John’s UK appointed Clare its first Chief Vegan Officer on a six-month contract to help develop its vegan menu. Today, her restaurant guides sit alongside travel recommendations and Last Orders, where she talks with people behind the food scene about their experiences.
