Mini bio

How it started.

Ranveer grew up in Lucknow, helping his mother cook and spending time around the langar kitchen at his local gurdwara. The city’s kebab culture drew him towards a career in food. He learned from street-side kebab maker Munir Ahmed before studying at IHM Lucknow.

From kitchens to television.

Hotel kitchens took him to Delhi, Goa and Noida, followed by restaurant work in Boston. After returning to India in 2010, he became a familiar face through shows including Breakfast Xpress, Snack Attack and The Great Indian Rasoi. By 2015, he was judging the fourth season of MasterChef India alongside Sanjeev Kapoor and Vikas Khanna.

Recipes with a story.

His official recipe site and YouTube channel sit alongside books and restaurant projects. A Journey Through India explores regional food and its cultural history. In Dubai, his Kashkan Kissaghar restaurant builds its menu and interiors around storytelling. He has also joined the casts of Modern Love Mumbai, The Buckingham Murders and Maa Ka Sum.
