Mini bio
How it started.
Renu is a British-Indian recipe creator from Manchester, now based in Glasgow. She told Women Who Win that appearing with her family in an Aldi TV campaign encouraged her to start a food page. In Woman & Home, she described taking content creation more seriously after being made redundant in 2020, teaching herself food photography and finding an audience for affordable cooking and using up leftovers.
Food, family and Diwali.
Her mother’s homemade Indian food helped shape her cooking. Wanting to share Diwali with her own children, she struggled to find a suitable family guide and wrote Celebrate Diwali. Published in 2024, her first book brings recipes and craft activities together. She also created a spice collection with Spice Kitchen, including her own chaat masala blend.
A new chapter.
Renu built her food work alongside a job in higher education. In August 2025 she announced that she had left the University of the West of Scotland to become a full-time content creator, offering brand content, social media services and team cook-alongs.
