Mini bio
College cookouts.
Jack found his love of grilling while studying agricultural engineering. His own brand’s timeline dates those college cookouts to 2015. Cooking for friends became the starting point for Chef Cuso.
From engineering to the backyard.
After college, Jack worked as an engineer in Silicon Valley and sent cooking videos to friends. They encouraged him to post publicly. He built his audience alongside his day job, then left engineering when the content could support him.
Finding his audience.
By August 2020, his representatives were promoting his growing grilling audience. Steak experiments, outdoor recipes and cooking with friends became recurring parts of his work. In 2021, the Buffalo Bills signed the lifelong fan as their official grillmaster.
Building Cuso’s.
His brand began in 2019, moving from selling wagyu to knives, seasonings and sauces. Jack partnered with friend Cody Allen to grow the business. He also joined his father and brothers in the family’s Santa Barbara ice cream shop, Cuso’s Creamery.
